Every WordPress website needs a webmaster

Your website is like a car. You’ve just purchased your shiny new ride, and as you drive it off the lot, the last thought on your mind is maintenance costs. Hell, it’s brand new; why would it need any service for the next few years, right? But we all know that without routine scheduled maintenance, like oil and filter changes, reliable service would be short-lived. Properly cared for, that beautiful machine should deliver many years of enjoyable service. At the very least, your WordPress website should have the database and site files backed up regularly, and its software updated.
My primary experience lies in websites built on the Genesis Framework, but I’ve also worked on quite a few sites built in Headway Themes, Blox Builder, DiY Themes Thesis, Oxygen and WooCommerce. When it comes to page builders, I’ve done a lot of work in Beaver Builder, Divi and WP Barkery Visual Composer, Thrive, Elementor, Make, SiteOrigin and Frontend Builder. If your website uses any of these components, we should be able to work on it without any learning curve. If your WordPress site was built with other components, I’ll have to look at what I’d be working with, before taking on the project.

Ordering à la carte work

To minimize the costs to you, I now have all clients fund a webmaster account with a retainer. As services are requested, they are covered out of your retainer. Periodic statements show the opening balance, service requests, and remaining balance. The account is topped up as required.

Administration, collecting payment, and associated interest charges with terms, can often exceed the actual time spent on job requests. Therefore, not having to invoice for every little thing significantly reduces my administration costs, and those savings are forwarded on to you by way of incrementally reduced hourly rates. Prepaid credits have become standard practice with many web design/development firms and agencies. The larger the retainer, the less administration will be involved, and the better the rate I can offer.

My standard hourly rate, due immediately upon completion, has been $120.00. Legacy clients who received hourly billing in the past are still eligible for COD terms, but they are no longer available for any of my new clients (after 2015).
